Celebrate Halloween With a Star-Studded Sesame Street Special
Get in the Halloween spirit this week with Sesame Street’s new The Monster at the End of This Story special.
The special is a reimagining of Sesame Street’s all-time bestselling picture book and will follow Grover’s reluctant journey to the end of the story, where he thinks a monster will be waiting for him.
The special will also include new sequences, songs and surprises, as well as other characters including Elmo, Abba Cadabby, Cookie Monster and Rosita. To celebrate the upcoming special, Sesame Workshop called upon celebrities Ciara, Stephen and Ayesha Curry, Lil Nas X, Ben Platt, Billy Porter, Hailee Steinfeld, Jason Sudeikis, Jonathan Van Ness, Olivia Wilde and more to read the beloved book out loud.
The goal of the special is to help kids feel resilient and brave, even when they’re a little scared. “We could all use a reminder that we’re stronger than we think we are, whether we’re facing down a big day at school, an important meeting, or a monster at the end of the story,” Samantha Kennedy, Sesame Workshop’s Vice President of Brand Marketing said in a press release. “As families join our #FurryMonsters celebration, we hope little ones and adults alike will be inspired by their friends on Sesame Street.”
The special will also include new activities and stories, including a “Monsterize Me” avatar creator, which will turn fans into a one-of-a-kind Sesame Street Monster, an animated short starring Grover and Elmo, “Monster Memes” and more.
