How does a home ovulation test work?

When a woman is about to ovulate, her body releases a large amount of a hormone called L.H. (Luteinising Hormone). L.H. is always present in your urine but the levels increase (surge) in the middle of your cycle, causing you to release an egg from the ovary, this process is called ovulation. If the L.H. surge is present, ovulation is likely to occur in the next 24 to 48 hours.

These ovulation tests detect the L.H. surge by measuring the amount of L.H. in urine.

Really like it I start testing the day after my period finished. My period started 01/04 and lasted 5 days. Since the last day of my period I have been testing everyday at 2pm. On 15/04 I felt some discharge and tested, the darkest line yet came up. I checked the leaflet and it actually said if you have 32 days periods (which I have)you should test on day 15 (day I got darkest line). Today I got more discharge and tested at 2pm again and it’s DARKKKK! So results are matching up to what my bodies saying…
